Several materials are suitable for insulating a wooden floor. PUR foam

Glass wool

Rock wool

Rock wool can also be fitted between the floor joists and provides excellent sound insulation in addition to thermal insulation. It is generally slightly more expensive than glass wool.
HR BioBased PUR foam
HR BioBased PUR foam is a more environmentally conscious alternative to traditional PUR foam. It offers similarly high insulation performance but is partly made from renewable raw materials. If you have a low crawl space of around 40 centimetres in height, crawl space insulation may be the best option. In this case, the insulation material is installed on the floor of the crawl space. This differs from floor insulation, where insulation is applied directly to the underside of the floor. Always make sure that your crawl space remains properly ventilated.
What is the best insulation for beneath a wooden floor?
The best insulation depends on your individual situation. If you have a dry and easily accessible crawl space, insulating the underside of the floor with HFO PUR foam can be an effective option.
